We've had some beautiful sunsets
and some marvelous frosty mornings this week.
Nature never fails to inspire!
In the shop, right now, Mohair is very much in the limelight. We have many yarns containing various amounts of mohair in a variety of weights and blends.
As we've blogged on a previous occasion, mohair is a superb fibre, usually silk-like and made from the hair of the Angora goat. It is both durable and resilient and is very notable for its high lustre and sheen, which has helped it to become known as the "Diamond Fibre".
Here is our latest scarf sample freshly off the needles:
This is made using one cake of Rico Essentials Super Kid Mohair Loves Silk Colour Love, which is a blend of 70% pure Kid Mohair and 30% pure silk. It is luxuriously soft, very light weight and yet very warm.
We have contemporary as well as genuine vintage mohair yarns along with patterns for both. Not all of the patterns are listed in our online store, but most of the yarn is. If you click HERE, it should bring up a search for Mohair in our online store. Also, there is now more on display in our South Street Shop thanks to a couple of handy Christmas hamper baskets we acquired!
So whether you're after Mohair in a lace weight or a super chunky, hopefully we'll have something just right for you!
Bye for now,
Lizzie & Lizzie
